Hello peeps of the north. Welcome to another episode of Ridiculousness! I am Elder Huff and with me always we have Elder Allen and thats it. So this week I guess the area 70 has decided to take the cars away slowly and we were one of the first ones.  So yeah we are walking now but going to try and get bikes so we can get around easier because our area is HUGE as trump would say!  how is that guy btw?  Anyways I have lost like 5 pounds though in like 5 days of walking so thats not good. Also it has rained every evening for the past 4 nights.  And when it rains here it rains.  So weve had to run to members houses to keep cover even though your soaking within 10 seconds of the rain.  And it hurts. But this week was super successful.  We have found 5 new potential priesthood holders which is great becuase that has been our focus!  Goal making is huge in life!  Mission has made me understand that.  So everyone should have a goal in mind every day whether it be long term or daily.  

Ive  been loving mission guys and I will never stop loving this place.  Another reason why I love this place is every one asks the most innocent questions and are not afraid of peeps judging them.  Like in church we were teaching the gospel principles class and we were talking about how praying out loud is a good thing and then this old lady asked what our voice should sound like when we pray outloud. Also one of the Elders quoted one of the apostles and how he shared a joke with God one time and then this guy in the class said i dont think me and god have the same sense of humor.  Everyone died.  But yeah mission is great.  Everyone having fun in the 4 inches of snow?  haha I guess I chose a good year to miss!

Transfers.

hello my fellow Americans.  

So this week was pretty hectic because of transfers.  My comp left monday night and so my new comp didnt get here until wednesday morning so all day tuesday I was with my mtc groupy elder Lopez so that was way fun and we then picked up his companion that night and grabbed some pizza for the night and met some really crazy drunk guys.  One of them was like the biggest drug dealer in Bloemfontein and we became friends and he said if anything happens to call him and him and "the boys"will protect us so I can say we had some success this week.  

We found some really cool families we are teaching  so we have big plans for alot of baptisms this transfer.  Elder Allen and I are super good friends already and so this transfer will be greatness.

Nothing else really happened this week other than finding the biggest fabric store ever.  This place is like grandma heaven.  But they do have some really cool stuff and I bought some patches and also I want to make some cool ties.  Thanks to my baba Thorsen for teaching me how to make ties.

Im staying in my area and getting my MTC companion!!!!  Im super stoked.

Happy New Year

No way its 2k18 already?  Where did my childhood go?  

I really don't know where time has gone I am turning 20 this year?  Since when?  But whatevs life goes on.   

This week was one of the funniest weeks of my life!  Christmas day was seriously a wonderful day. We worked in the morning for a few hours and then went to this place called naval hill where you can drive around and see all kinds of animals.  And since were all little boys at heart the minute we see a bunch of giraffes we get out of the car and start chasing them around in the desert.  We also went to this huge Nelson Mandela statue where it looks over the city.  If anyone plans on coming to South Africa, come to Bloemfontein.  

Other than feasting on Christmas this week was nice.  kinda...  No one wanted to see us because of the festive season.  And yesterday was horrible. No one wanted to see us.  New years is huge here and there was music and fireworks all night long.  I looked out my window and it looked like a war was going on.  

So a little update.  I'm in a trio right now just for these last two weeks because this kids companion went home a little early for school.  So is it fun?  I'm not a huge fan of having 3 peeps in a companionship especially when they just talk about killing animals and how scary SA is.  I just usually go to bed but its fine, only a few more days left.

Happy Christmas peeps!  This week has been super crazy!  This festive season is a mad house!  I love it so much. I had a crazy experience giving a blessing to a girl the other day that I don"t know if I am going to tell anyone.  But just know it was a crazy experience involving the pre-existence.  

We have been running around like crazy.  I baked like 100 cookies the other night and we've been giving them out to a bunch of peeps.  But just this weekend we had our ward Christmas party that was so much fun.  And then for Christmas eve we hung out at the senior couples house the HICKS.  And yes its the Hicks from Blackfoot.  They used to live in Poky.  But yeah Cam Hicks is coming next month so hopefully we get to see each other which we will. 

 I hear Pebble Crik is open today!! Everyone go shred those rocks and ruin your skis but have the best time of life.  

Anyways we played games last night and then went caroling and giving out candy.  We made a bunch of old people cry. It was sweet.  But today I've made three batches of my famous bread pudding.  Peaches and Cream,  banana chocolate, and apple cinnamon.  So yeah I'll have to make it when I get home. 

Anyways gotta go have fun!  I'll talk with you guys next week.

Almost Christmas

Almost merry christmas everyone!

So this week was super crazy!  Saturday was the worst because it was the 16th which is the day the party ended so there was parties all weekend.  We tried to schedule people for that day but they looked at us like we were crazy.  No one goes to work all the shops close down and there is music all day and all night and the streets are full!!  No one cares at all.  So yeah we didn't teach a single lesson that day.  We just tried to find people and then excepted our fate and went to a members house for coo drink and biscuits. 

So there is this less active guy whose name is Zolile.  His life is at the lowest of the low.  He takes care of his 95 year old grand dad with dementia.  He is embarrassed to go outside with him because everyone makes fun of him.  His family left him alone to take care of him like basically ditching him because they don't want to take care of the grandpa. So yeah he gets in fights with people because he loves his grandpa.  All he does is sit at home taking care of him.  So we are planning to bring him a Christmas this year.  I got the members to make some food and we will bring it to him sometime this week.  We will share some Christmas videos with him and just enjoy the season with him.  So hopefully this is a Christmas to remember.  

Another awesome thing.  There was a huge fire in the mall in town.  So there  was 80% off all stores!! It was insane but we were able to get some cool stuff for insane prices!  Merry Christmas right?
